This is
the Web version of material I used to present in various
presentation forms as Seductive
Interfaces.
Based on my experiences and ad
hoc research as a game designer/developer, this version was
intended primarily for software application designers of all
stripes.
What you will find here began as a transcription
of Seductive Interfaces
-- Engaging, Not Enraging the User,
a one-hour
talk I gave to approximately two thousand
attendees at the Microsoft
Interactive
Media
Conference, July 20, 1995.

Really.
Two THOUSAND.

I don't often get displayed on a
"Jumbotron."

Although
today's reader will find dated or now-irrelevant references, I
believe that the core concepts still hold, and are to be found in many of today's applications.
