Seductive
Interfaces is a collection
of linked ideas that started as small but
significant observations.
Here's one: Try having a conversation with
someone under the following conditions: The two
of you are seated at a table facing each other.
There is a television turned on in the room that
your partner can see, but you can't. No matter
how fascinating you are, while you are talking
your partner's eyes will constantly shift towards
the TV.
Try it. I find it very hard to converse with a
person who keeps gazing over my shoulder. Still,
I can't blame them. The TV image has control, not
me. This section will tell you why that is.
Oh, and how you can use it to make people happy. |
